A Globalization Trifecta

Post by Steve P. »

That camera ad seems a little weird: The seller is located in Germany. Their ad is listed in ebay.com.au, which is Australia. That seems close to Austria, but not quite. And the currency for the auction is … wait for it … English pounds sterling, with shipping charges quoted in US dollars. It would have been good if the advertisement was written in Japanese.

if you look at the feedbacks it look very much german to me.

http://cgi2.ebay.com.au/aw-cgi/eBayISAP ... =beendet04

seller name should mean something like auction [closed/ended] (beendet) in german.

Waaah, I want that item. Waay to much money though. Still, in my years of ebay/super 8 I have never seen this item. Looks like it is a zoom ONLY for underwater use. I would put it on my website but jeesh, then we get into the my picture/your picture debate again. Oh well, great item. In practice, probably rarely used but still just plain neat! I am starting to think that super 8 was as developed if not more so than 35mm photography...okay, that's a stretch but still cool.

I have one of those zoom adapters. And you are right Michael, it IS for underwater use only. I was going to take a pictures of all my Nautica stuff, and compile them into a PDF. I have a bunch of adds some receipts etc... Later on, I may put together a super Nautica package for ebay, with both wide and tele lens adapters, filters, multiple paralex viewfinders, and multiple eye-cups. (I was going to do this before, but you guys have seen the state my 24 fps Nautica is in), oh yeah, and I was going to include a waterproof pellican style case.

Like I said before, you are free to use any of my pictures on your site, as long as you give ... provided by credit.

If you replace the 'com.au' with 'co.uk' or simply '.com' you will find it is just server related addressing. The link was taken from browsing the au servers. That is not where the listing originated, just where it was viewed.

Got hold of a hardly used an certainly never dived Nautica. Excellent condition. It had a wide angle attachment lens in the handle compartment but I have not read the manual properly yet so I have to check the details there.

Anyway - this summer I am going to take a "Nyberg" dive or 2

Gosh, that makes much more sense. I think I even knew that. *slaps head* But still, would have been good if the ad was written in Japanese. :D

Thanks - perhaps you can email me a picture of your zoom attachment, I may be interested in purschasing it...But at least a picture or two will go on the website with credit...just let me know what you want the credit to say.

Thanks again,
