Orwo NP 55 for reversal - HELP!

Post by walter »

Does somebody know if the ORWO NP 55 b/w cine film type can be processed to positive with reversal chemistry? Is the film on clear layer or on grey layer?
Thanks for information

Hi Walter,
as far as I know the only one B &W negative stock from ORWO which can be proccesed as reversal is ORWO UN 54 ISO 100 stock.
Kahl Film and Wittner-K sells this stock in Super 8 format.

Check this info:

BTW, what kind of cine fim is ORWO NP 55 (ISO Rate, etc.) :?:

Saludos,

Carlos.

it can

I thought using BW Reversal chemistry all BW film can be developed as positive.

The difference is in other properties of the emulsion. Negative intended film is not very suitable for frequent projection scratch resistance is not worked on in the design. And such.
Kind regards,

André

pretty much correct, some negative stocks have a high base density, making up for a rather muddy projection.. .. but it will most likely render a usable image...

Hello.
Orwo NP 55 is a very old material. It is not designed for reversal processing.
It has a generally low contrasty picture and a little red layer after processing.
I think, you need some time for testing. Be sure, that ph from fixer is low enough. (PH 4,5) Otherwise picture will not clear enough.
Kindly regards
