Hello all,
For those who have a Workprinter and are using premier, how do you output the video so that the motion reflects 18fs, rather than speeding it up to 29.97 fps?
I've tried interpreting the clip out to 18 fps, but the motion doesn't change.
Ideas?
Thanks,
Brandt

Hi, Brandt!
If using Premier, you simply put the clip on the timeline, right click on it, then go to "speed" and type in a new percentage.
If you want it to run at 24fps (23.976), then you type in "80%"
If you want it to run at 18fps (17.982), then you type in "60%"
If you want it to run at 15fps (14.985), then you type in "50%"
Jeff Dodson has also written software ($35.00) that will do the speed changes for you as an alternative to Premier. It can be found at:
http://www.alternaware.com
His software now as the ability to do either whole frame pulldowns or interpolated frame pulldowns.
For instance, if you were running regular 8mm and used Premier for a 50% speed change, that would result in a running speed of 15fps by doubling every frame. The end results look fine for NTSC but, if you wanted it run a tad smoother, you can use the interpolated frame mode and, instead of merely doubling every frame, it will incorporate a field from one frame and a field from the following frame to create a split field combination (interpolated fields) on the new artificial "inbetween" frames. This makes the footage run a bit smoother than merely doubling frames. It also interpolates the fields on the artificial frames for the 18fps and 24fps pulldown schemes, as well.
Hope this helps!
