If you use a MovieStuff WorkPrinter:
I have just released an update to "Dodcap." In case you don't know, Dodcap is a stop-motion capture utility that is designed specifically to operate with the WorkPrinter as an alternative to Adobe Premiere. It costs under $35 USD (much cheaper than Premiere!) and now offers functionality that I think Premiere doesn't. Specifically, Dodcap can speed-correct your footage for video using "interpolated" frames, which gives a much smoother-looking feel than you would get using Premiere's whole-frame method. You can download/purchase it online 24/7 from Europe, US, etc., and you will receive a registration code automatically, so you don't have to wait for me to respond.
The website is: http://www.alternaware.com
In the latest update, I have added:
- smoother conversion of film frame rates to video frame rates; this is accomplished using "interpolated" padding frames. These frames are created by combining fields from adjacent frames. When played back on a PAL or NTSC television set, pans, zooms, and motion scenes look smoother. Pulldown can be applied as you capture or afterwards as a post-processing step.
- offline pulldown module; this allows you to apply pulldown to .avi files you have already captured. It works even with .avi files not captured by Dodcap.
- auto-detection of capture device connection; the software now detects when you connect/disconnect your video capture device.
- online .pdf help file; you can now download the latest Help file from Dodcap's website in .pdf form. This should answer most questions you might have about what Dodcap does and how you use it.
There is a trial version available online, so feel free to download it and give it a try. It supports Windows 2000 and XP right now, but I am targeting Windows 98 SE in my next release as well.
Sorry for the shameless plug, but I'm not sure how to reach the masses that have bought a WorkPrinter otherwise!

I'm waiting for a live mouse from Roger, mine got fried by lightening, and now, waiting for DodCap 98 SE!
Just found out that I need VirtualDub, too. On video that comes out blocky in bbMPEG, VirtualDub makes it smooth (starting from scratch of course, not redoing any bb files).
