Pelluet is my mothers maiden name [she's French]. It was an accident that I started using it as my screen name, when I was registering with Ebay I intended to use my old Uni' nick name 'Mighty Mike' but got the security word box and the screen name box mixed up 8O . I've stuck with Pelluet ever since but should mention that Mighty Mike is not my security word for anything anymore :!:

My nickname is "Nick" so that's the one I use.

Bolex 150 Super+Kodak PXR464, which was the camera and film I used to make my first film after I got back into Super-8 3 years ago.

Scotness - just a nickname - I think my little sister used to say it - this thread is actually more interesting than I thought it would be - I thought it would be pretty frivolous and right up there with the one I started (with a poll) "Should Roger have changed his avatar?"

My avatar BTW is a white cockatoo I shot on video (sorry) at my parents house it was coming in for a drink at a bird bath - it actually lands and alights his crest up - I was going to make a little animated gif avatar but haven't got round to it -- Patrick if you see this - I notice you've got a pelican - the only other bird avatar (and another Australian) but it looks like yours was shot on film - perhaps you could tell us about it

Actually Scot, I kind of thought it was a good idea until I posted it. Then it just seemed so insignificant and one of those posts that everyone ignores. But it has taken on a life of its own.

One of the reasons I decided to ask the question was to get ideas for short films. One unusual story (like DriveIn's for instance) can inspire a whole host of ideas 8)

You know, funny enough that cliche never even passed through my mind when I wrote the two in quite separate paragraphs. But this is the second mention of it but I'm still smiling

Here is my story:

My grandmother used to have an old farmhouse (150+ yrs) in northeast Ohio, and it had younger additions and rooms built onto the original structure. As a result, the main living room had this vent that resembled an attic vent near the top of the cathedral-style ceiling, and the vent connected to an upstairs hallway. The openings were plenty big enough to put toys through, i.e. the plastic army man and his parachute, which my siblings and I put to good use.

My siblings, who are older than me, used to play a game where they would write messages on slips of paper and drop them on unsuspecting aunts and uncles in the main living room. The messages usually consisted of "Where's the beef?", "Uncle Arnie smells bad", or "Captain Crunch is going to kill Count Chocula". We got a good amount of amusement out of this.

I tried being like my older brother and sister in this task, but unfortunately at being only 5 at the time, my sentence forming skills and spelling were not up to that of my siblings. So I ended just writing down single words, i.e. "poop", "fart", etc. - you know things that a five year old finds extremely fascinating. Sometimes I would find words in my grandmother's archaic dictionary that was 8" thick, or I would just make them up, or mispell a word into something completely different. I would often do this before our visits, and I would save and reuse the slips of paper as well. Eventually I stopped doing this, and found other ways to amuse myself - it was a farm with 80 acres to explore and animals to play with after all.

Many years later, I was cleaning through some stuff and found my slips of words in a folder. It was so damn funny, and I was surprised at some of the colorful words I knew at such an early age! But anyway, I thought it would be fun to incorporate some of my made up words into my daily life as sort of my own little linguistic revolution.

One of the words I found was 'pheboglobi', and I chose it as my username because 1) I'm pretty darn sure no one is ever going to duplicate that name, hence cutting down on the time it takes to memorize multiple screen/user names across services (email, boards, games, etc), and 2) I just like the sound of it.

So I have no idea what it means literally, even though I did make up the word.

:P
