Telecine converter

Post by nils »

Hi.

Anyone familiar with " Maxtec Deluxe Telecine Converter" ?
Its made in Taiwan and looks real cheap. Its a black box, projector goes in one side and a videocam in another. I just got it so I havent tried it out yet.

It is a mirror, for reversing the image, and a translucent back projection screen for filming off. They were very common a few years ago and came in all shapes and sizes. Some had built in close up lenses before camcorders had close up zoom lenses as standard.

Resolution can be poor, and the light can be uneven. As a starting point for DIY telecine they are worth a go. But do not expect high quality transfers.

It's crap. Do not buy one of those things, you'll regret it... I had far better results by direct projection on inkjet photographic papers.
