Anyone using a WorkPrinter with a Sony TRV950?

I am currently transferring my super 8 films with my new WorkPrinter and a one chip video camera. I am getting great images, but I want to use a 3 chip camera for even better quality. One camera I am considering is the Sony TRV950. This camera gets pretty good reviews, but some say it gives a flare effect when aimed at a light source, like a lot of older video cameras did. So, I wonder if this would be an issue with the WorkPrinter? Do any of you fellow WorkPrinter owners use this particular camera, and would you recommend it?

WP transfers need lots of optical zoom. My sony Hi-8 camera has 18x optical and works great. 12x is the minimum I think.
I've heard that the Sony 950 works in Pal and NTSC; is that correct?

I have the TRV-900 that I use with the Workprinter. It works great for everything! If I were to pinpoint a weakness, I would say that the 12X zoom could be a bit more powerful, but only for Reg8mm films since the camera needs to sit closer to the Workprinter for that format. This also means that the focus on the lense is pretty close to the minimum focus setting. However, it all works fine, especially after Roger tweaked the WP for me.

I am also using the TRV 900, and can confirm what Dave says.
I got my WorkPrinter about 2 months ago, and so far I am very pleased with the results I get.

If you want to go the camcorder route I would really recommend that you take a look at the JVC GY-DV300U. Here is a link to the JVC site in Canada, the USA site was busy and I couldn't easily get the link:

The camera head is said to resolve 700 TV lines, which is terrific for a $2000 USD camera, and it has a number of nice features. I think it has the same DSP as the GY-DV5000U, so it may benefit from the same increased dynamic range. Also, the chips are larger at 1/3" so the low-light ability should be better. Overall, I think it is probably a better camera for transferring film.
