Super8 features
Someone mentioned a Super8 feature on the Resolution thread, so I thought I'd throw this out there:
What feature-length movies have been shot entirely on Super8 and distributed to theaters on 35mm?
I'm pretty sure that "Shaft" was made on Super8, but I can't think of any others right off.

Well, actually the features doesn't mean they're all made in super8, but more like they've used super8 in their films in specific scenes.

hmm, I just looked at the list and noticed Clerks is on it, im 99% sure it was actually shot on 16mm using b+w reversal stock.

Well, there may indeed be errors on the list. I have no true source to confirm the existence pf super8 in these features, except for Pro8mm sometimes.

There's no more than 10% of super8 in it.
As I said before, there a lot of full lenght movies shot entirely in super8, for exemple:
" Omellette " Remi Lange 90'
" les yeux brouillé " Remi Lange 90'
" November " Jan Peters 90'
" December " Jan Peters 90'
" Soviets plus electicity " Nicola Ray 175'
" Lacrima Chrsiti " Téo Hernandes 127'
" Das goldene tor " Jurgen Reeble 54'
" Villa beausoleil " Philippe Alard
" Memories of a tropical Juish " Joseph Morder 78'
" The closed valley " Jean-Claude Rousseau 144'
" Head on the water " Benoit Labourdette 80'
ect ... & it's nearly only french movies, ... not talking about other countries & medium lenght features...
I'm shure on 99% that clerks is in 16mm, shaft too. The movies mentionned in Resoltion thread, "Heilt Hitler", shot on 16mm ( every web site on it mentioned 16mm, even official ITW of the director ).

Hi, Folks!
Nanni Moretti, Italian indie filmmaker, shot his first full length feature ("Io sono un autarchico" - I am an Autarchic) entirely on Super 8 in 1976 or 1977. It premiered at the most important indipendent film festival then it was blown to 16 mm and screened in major cities in "essai" movie theaters. As long as I know, he used a Canon camera, but I am afraid he decided on this gauge out of necessity.
I've seen this film on videocassette, and the quality is not as good as usual.
My one penny...

"Shaft" from '71 was shot on 35mm.

An interesting film shot on S8 I saw on tape recently was "Darkness", directed by Leif Jonker. He shot it on a Canon 1014 and filmed it entirely with a (HUGE!) teenage cast. For a S8 horror film it's suprisingly well done. Good, disgusting vampire FX.

I just downloaded "Within the woods" available on a famous peer-to-peer program that begins by a K & end by AZAA. "Within the woods" is the prequell of Evil Dead, 30' shot on super8, by Sam Raimi ( Spiderman, Evil Dead Trilogie, Darkman, ect...) with the pretty same cast than Evil Dead ( included Bruce Campbell, the Evil Dead Trilogie main caracter). The file is pretty big for modem users ( 300mb ), & in bad quality ( due to his rarity, it has been transfered to Divx from a Vhs that is a copy from a copy).

Andreas, you could also had on short movies section the movie INK from Sarah Darmon, a beautifull short shot on 2.66 with an 6008 on tri-x, pushed 1 stop & cross processed. It's a very special favorite. I saw it on a small theater & offered her a pro telecine of her work. I may become available on tape soon.

Super 8 Features
The only full-fledged feature I know of that was ever released was 'A Polish Vampire from Burbank' or something like that, by Mark Pirro. It went sraight to tape and made money and I guess was pretty good.
'Slackers' has about 5 minutes of S8 in it at the end, and the Isaac Mizrahi theatrical documentary that came out a few years ago is about 1/4 Elmo handheld-- recommended.
