It a great cam.

Let me begin with the faults first:

onlt 25fps. There is suppose to be a 24 fps for Americans, but most that I find are the German Euro version of 25.

No time laps by itself

the viewfinder is not as good as Canon 1014 IMHO, but better than most S8

Noisy like most super 8.

M mount is 35mm mount. Pretty much useless unless you find the rumored C mount convertor.

the good stuff:

Sturdy. Feels very solid, especially the the mount.

the design is not funky, making it ideal for mattebox (unlike many high end S8 cams).

The ST1 controller gives you a lot of contrtol of the shutter - better than Nizo's timelaps/extended feature

54 fps Slow motion.

The zoom lens (Schneider 6-66) is awesome. Get the one with power zoom.

Awesome images - just Awesome.

Recommended accessory:

ST1 controller
10m Cinegon lens.

Just becareful...

the cam can be very pricey. Though not as expensive as a Beaulieu 7008.
I sold mine about 3 months ago. It was a complete set. If you can find it for less than $600 for the body and 6-66mm lens you are in good shape. The ST1 should be worth about $100 - no more than that. The Cinegon lens varies. I have seen it as cheap as $150 and as much as $300+.

Hope this was what you where looking for.

no - the Cinegon 10m is all manual. The iris system is very easy. Since the iris are on the lens (like all pro lenses) you will only see a +/- sign in the viewfinder and a middle bar to indicate correct exposure.
