just got a new Canon 814 XL-S in almost mint condition (at least cosmetically) - it even came in the original box with styrofoam, warranty, etc. I am testing it now and see how if all functions work. If not I have a warranty!! Came with lens shade, remote and step up filter (62->67)

all for less than $200 :D !!!

I chech Ebay and they go for as much as $500

hehehhe

sorry

so where did you get this great deal from?
I use an 814 Electronic, great camera, still looking for the repair manual at a decent price though so I can try and fix the manual exposure.

Ebay - some power seller named it like "Canosound movie camera" so it flew under most Super 8 enthusiast search methods.

I actaully camer very close one to buying a Beaulieu 6008 Pro (crystal sync remember and great lens) for less than $400. The dude mispelled Beaulieu!!! I did also in my search box :)

I did not have the money so I had to pass. He reposted it (no BIDS on the first listing!!!) and sold it for about $1100 (it sux being a starving student)

Regarding your manual:
use google.com

here:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=U ... air+manual

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the links, I have already tried goodwinphoto and they dont have the repair manual for the Electronic version of the 814. The only place I have found that has it is in the UK, is very expensive to begin with and s/h to the US is insane. Thanks for the help though, I have found a cheap source for the non electronic 814 and think I am going to get that repair manual, but I believe things like the exposure control are handled very differently in the electronic model.
