! needs an S8 shot horror movie for Kodak french S8 festival

Post by Basstruc »

 I'm organizing the French Super8 Festival called Super8K-End on 3days in november & got a lots of documentaries, ciné-dairies & experimental movies but I wanted to program an S8 Horror night. I contacted th french distributor of "The dead next door" but they got outraging prices & conditions, we didn't found any arrangement. Tried to contact Wincked Pixel for Ice from the sun but they got no French version or French subtitles version... Bleak future website doesn't seams to work. Other movies listed on this site get horribles user comments & rating on Imdb ( except those I suspect writen by crew or distributors ).
If I didn't found something until monday evening, I'll be obligated to program something else.

Where is the event going to take place?
Have you already set the dates?
Are you going to project from film or video?
Thanks and good luck.

Sure, I will inform Andreas as soon as everything will be closed. There's full of good things to watch, from 3minutes shorts to 175minutes features. Documentaries, experimental, performing, ect...
But no horror finally : did not found anything.

Matt,
There are plenty of horror movies made on super8. Check out the "Features" section in the left menu for a list. (B-movies).

And yes, please inform me when you have all details and I'll put it up on the site!

Cheers,
/Andreas

Yes I know but :
" The Dead Next Door " : insane distribution conditions & price
" Ice From the Sun " & " Bleak Future " : no french versions or french subtitles
" Polish Vampire in Burbank " & " Curse of the Queerwolf ", not really horror movies.
I closed programation today so ...
I'll send you this when I'll finished editing it.

You mean you can say such without being an anti-french nationalist. ;)

Very funny ... Are there that much english only movies projected in sweden ? I hope not.
I personnaly don't mind seeing movies in english but I know that everyone here are not that confortable in english. & I care of my audience because they're those who pay to watch movies, & makes me live.
But in other way, if those US-distributor have english only, it also means that they got no PAL version & it's hell expensive to transfer from NTSC.

Doesn't mean nothing, if I went once to London in my life, does it directly means that I'm United Kingdom friendly ? ( this is only an exemple, I AM english friendly of course )

in festivals? yes, pretty much every one of them. and the ones that are in other languages, including swedish, are subtitled in english. since the festival prints or tapes typically tour the whole world it's really the only way. it seems extremely french to demand a french version of everything... ;-)

duh, yes? at least if you went with your english girlfriend. :-)

no seriously, it was a joke, derived from the classic "i know a chinese guy, so i'm not racist, but..."
