Kodachrome Pre Paid Mailer

Post by anthony »

Hello

I know this question has been answered b4 so excuse me if i am repeating things but i am still a bit confused about using some Pre Paid Mailers i bought on eBay recently

Here is the link so you can see exactly which mailer i am talking about:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... :EOAB:AU:6

I have some Unprocessed Paid Kodachome and Ektachrome Sound film I want to develop with these mailers, is it possible like the PK 59 mailers.

I queried the seller on this and he claims that he has used these mailers with non Process paid Kodachrome film, he says that the mailers are proof that Processing has been payed for as they were purchased from Kodak

I am just really anxious to find out whether i have wasted my money or i can develop some of my sound film using these mailers, I also dont want to risk sending my sound film and having them lost because of incorrect mailers.

Thanks

Dear Anthony,

I was recently given a handful of Kodak mailers from my local family owned camera store. I called Kodak and asked if they were still good. I was told that unless it has an experation date, it is still good. Just make sure to send it to the New Jersey address.

I would call Kodak. Go to the website, get the phonenumber (I called someone in the processing department, I was transferred to someone else.) and ask the question. They will get you to the right person. They were very friendly to me. Just say you were going through your camera bag and found them.

Hi anthony,

The only prepaid processing mailer available is the PK-59 from Kodak.
What you have bought are not prepaid processing mailers.
They are only envelopes to send in process-paid film.
They are included in the box with process-paid Kodachrome 40 by Kodak.

The hint if a cartridge is process paid or not, is printed clearly on the label and everybody can read it: „Film price includes processing by Kodak“. Ektachrome films are always without processing.

You will read the following on the back of each envelope:
„Envelope only for use with process-paid film“ but the french sentence get more closer to the point: „Sachet d`expédition; ne représente pas le prix du traitement.“

The envelope does not represent the processing costs. It is only a useful offer to send in the cartridge.
You bought some expensive envelopes, nothing more.
You don`t need them for sending in process-paid film. An ordinary envelope would have sufficed.

This is what the seller e-mailed me when i queried the mailers

I have used the mailers with non-processing paid K40 film twice in the past,
as the mailers are proof of processing payment (regardless of which K40 film
you have).
These mailers can only be bought from Kodak themselves. (although I don't
think Kodak sell them individually anymore) and would retail
for £9.00 each.

Do you think that I might have a case on eBay for misleading information, if they are virtually useless

Don't buy them...if you come into The Widescreen Centre and ask for them we'll give it for free.
