Hi all,
I just got a bunch of those new k40 super8 carts with prepaid mailers from kodak. The mailers don't have a US address to send the film to, and it stated on the mailer that processing is not available in the US (which is where I am).
I guess Toronto, Canada is the closest; anyone been mailing there from the US? What is the turnaround time?
thanks!!
Anyone using the new k40 carts with mailers?

K-40 cartridge CAT 505 3335 in the United States
Hello billbot,
Kodak now sells the K-40 cartridges CAT 505 3335 including Kodak processing in the United States.
see http://www.kodak.com/US/plugins/acrobat ... ay2002.pdf
I think this is very pleasant because you can save the $ 10.00 independent labs demand for processing one cartridge or the costs for buying a PK-59 mailer.
It is the same type they are selling here in Europe for at least 20 years.
The K-40 (CAT 505 3335) is accompanied by a yellow mailing envelope with a ticket for your records on the back. On the front there are 16 mailing addresses, mainly European countries, and the hint "Kodak processing not available in the United States".
My advice for u.s. users:
It is not a prepaid mailer like the PK-59 which Kodak sells for their u.s. customers to get K-40 cartridges CAT 501 9294, without Kodak processing, processed.
A little bit confusing, isn`t it?
The yellow mailing envelope is only to send in the prepaid K-40 cartridge CAT 505 3335 and does not represent the prepaid processing.
The point to detect if the K-40 cartridge includes or excludes Kodak processing is the label of the cartridge.
The K-40 cartridge CAT 505 3335 has the sentence "Price includes processing by Kodak" in red colour on the label.
The other K-40 cartridge CAT 501 9294 only sold in the U.S. does not have this hint.
Always put the right cartridge in the right "mailer".
I suppose the mailing address for the yellow envelope in the United States is:
Kodak Premium Processing
16-31 Route 208
Fair Lawn, NJ 07410
(201) 797-0600
(800) 345-6973
see http://www.kodak.com/cluster/global/en/ ... 0kic.shtml
but verify this address before sending a cartridge to them because I am not sure.
I think it is the same address as on the PK-59 mailers because in the end it does not matter if the mailer was prepaid or the cartridge includes prepaid processing. In both cases Kodak earns the money.
I think they will collect the cartridges and send them to the "famous" Kodak Lab in Renens, Switzerland.
The usual turnaround time here in Europe is about 14 days.
Greetings from Germany to all KODACHROME 40 fans,
Niklas

mailers
just adding pictures of the prepaid mailers we have always used in Norway and most likely whole Eurpee.
Is this identical to the ones you get in the US now?
Should work fine.
The only Kodak S8 lab remaining is in Switzerland as far as I know.
