Bell & Howell Projector Speed

I puchased one myself recently, it's in great shape. One problem: it seems to project at 18fps or so. Everything I project is slow. Is this actually possible? I'm screwed, right? There's no speed knob, no easy way to deal with this as far as I can see. Did they actually make projectors like this? Anyone?

Mine doesn't have 24 fps either. It's only Normal (18 fps), Slow Motion (~6 fps) and Step (~2 fps). I think only sound projectors have 24fps. :?:
