Rest in peace S8 Booster!

Post by Andreas Wideroe »

Vidar Backmann, aka S8 Booster was one of the original and most active members of this forum. He had a true passion for Super8 filmmaking, Hifi and Apple/Macs and was a professional running his own company working with electric stuff like battery backup systems etc. He was also very interested in boats and sailing.

I haven't been in touch with him since 2020, but over the years we had many talks, many imessages and phone calls. Therefore it was very sad when I yesterday came across S8 Booster's memorial page. I did not know that he had passed in February 2023. So sorry to hear that. I met Vidar several times over the years. Always positive, enthusiastic, lots to talk about. He was such a great guy and will be dearly missed.

S8 Booster made 5794 posts: search.php?author_id=55&sr=posts

Here you can find his memorial page.

Rest in peace Vidar. Thanks for your contributions to super8 filmmaking and the community. Your Super 8 legacy will live on in this forum. You will be remembered and missed @};- (*)

Although absent for many years, considering his status and relevance you might post this in the main forum.

Do you know how these posts get so many views?
The main forum has crazy view numbers too.
Is it from search engines of AI indexers?
It is a treasure trove on Super-8.
You might see how AI would write a book on Super-8 based on the posts on fimshooting :)
Kind regards,

André
