The only reason I would think a piece wouldn't go on the reel is because of a really bad telecine, or including copyrighted material or xxx. On that note, can people submit "R" rated clips? I think xxx should be out of the question (does anyone have any anyway?) but since we're all adults here, maybe R is ok? Maybe we could estimate a rating to put on the film's menu page so sensitive people would know. Anyway, no "properly telecined" submission will be turned down. We can always make more DVD's.CHAS wrote:I'm not so sure I like the idea of having one or two people deciding which films get on and which are rejected. I make, for the most part, experimental short narratives. What if the person who is deciding is really into say, snowboarding docs and happens to HATE anything that isn't like that? So then we have a natural bias to go through...and who decides what goes on anyway?
Here's what I'm thinking for cost:seer wrote:Just some thoughts...
Is it possible to say work out a price and then when people send in thier clips they can add in some money aswell so they have already paid for a copy of the dvd. As I am sure everyone who enters some footage will want the entire dvd aswell. Just a thought.
Also I was thinking of just sending in like a 5 minute clip, It would probably take a little while as I need to get it processed and telecined.. so what is the deadline?
Thanks
If Sunrise has a fast internet connection, we could just transfer the files to each other that way...no increased costs at all. I have a ftp that can handle whatever size files they would be. The idea is to have a PAL and NTSC disc that have the same material on them.Petteri wrote:I think this is going quite well ;-) Double or Triple DVD sounds nice as well..... The "rules" in previos post was fine for me!
Will you guys deal the stuff from europe / us together so that we will have same version on both "regions" (that will put the costs a bit upper, right?)?
I think new threat for preliminary submission list, would be good idea.

I do have some generic stock menus I could use for people who can't or don't want to make their own menu. That's not a problem. I'll look for one that looks the best for this project and post an image of it on my website so you guys can see what it looks like.Patrick wrote:Unfortunately, I do not have the means or the know-how or access to the right technology to design and save DVD menus. Is this a problem? Nahie, is it possible for you to use some sort of stock DVD menu design for people in my situation?
