8mm2avi is an interesting approach by using software registration, I wonder whether the same can be achieved with Photoshop actions.
A while back I did some calcs with my Canon 2700 filmscanner which can scan 8 S8 frames within the 35mm frame space and even with a simple system to pull the film through a custom built filmstrip holder, it worked out at about 30 hours to just scan a 50ft reel. Then theres the software processing on top....
the quality was very good at about 640x480
