I like my Carena Zoomex a lot. Beautiful camera with Angenieux lens and workable exposure meter.

The Bolex P1 is much easier to use than a H series. Only it is restricted to the little rolls of film which makes it a pain for lots of shooting. The light meter and the large bright viewer make it a joy to use. The H series is a joy to shoot 100 foot rolls. H8rex gets my vote, it has one step less to do than a H8 - no paralax to correct for.
Man, I wish I had that problem of shooting so much film I get tired of changing the small spools 8)regular8mm wrote:The Bolex P1 is much easier to use than a H series. The P1 is great, only limited by its fixed zoom lens which is pretty good but not the greatest quality wise.
For general outdoor shooting i like a non rex H8 best. Its lighter than the reflex models, has lots of great d-mount primes available, the parallax corrector works fine so that framing is not an issue 5ft or farther. For close up/macro or indoor work a rex is a must. If you want to go light yet still use primes then get a D8L.
