Chinon Classic - any good?

Hi,

Infuriatingly, the footage counter on my Canon 318M is kaput and the guy I bought it from has offered to swap it for a Chinon classic. The Chinon has slo-mo, 18 and 24 fps which I need, whereas the Canon only runs at 18fps. However apparently Canons are a better make.

Would this be overall a good exchange?

I'd appreciate any opinions.
