i am able to apply about 2 hours a day towards the beaulieu 4008 and r16 service/repair manual. about 4 hours per day dedicated to completing my film equipment package. 2 hours per day doing film related tasks ... currently i am playing around with lighting and filters.

You have an option which is to send it to Bjørn Andresson in Sweden and get it back in better than new condition :-)

hold onto your horses :) this service and repair manual i am preparing is going to be extremely helpful as it contains completely detailed dissassembly instructions with photos and diagrams and measurements of major parts. expanded views etc. it takes time though ... lots of info to process as i actually have to perform the proceedures and take photos during the process. then it this info has to be transcribed/typed into the computer and placed in te applicable area and formatted accordingly and consistantly. but what's nice is every single part is acounted for and shown in each applicable/respective area. also, the electronics section deals with replacement parts going as far as listing the types of resistors, potentimeters, transistors, etc. this way if one of these is faulty, you can search for a replacement online so you do not have to purchase directly through beaulieu or an expensive repair tech.

Sorry Matt, but I still have too much things to do (transfering just couple different super 8 music video materials).
He, He, for me it´s OK, Jukka. I can wait. I´ve many things to do too, so my poor Beulieu 3008 S is sleeping in its box.

repair manual beaulieu 4008ZM

Post by vanderVelden »

Hallo Jukkasil,
Last month I bought a never used 4008 ZM2 for a good price. However after shooting only 15 films the motor stopped and after opening the housing I saw that there is a problem between the sound synchonization shaft and the release button as the motor stops at inregular intervals. Can you help me how to solve this problem. Is there a discription in you manual how the prblem can be solved. I am very sad as the camera is brand new.

I have all of Beualieu's service/repair manuals, only have scanned d8/2008/4008-manuals I already sell at 15 Euro price.

So, you need 5008 manuals?

I have to find free time to scan it digital, then I'd sell it also in one cd-rom disk.

Couldn't wait any longer (just a few weeks left to acess a fully equipped repair service), bought one from OldTimer Camera.

the one old timer sells is not very helpful. infact,of the 3 differant manuals i was able to locateand purchase, none of them made thingsany easier. the mainproblem is they are not written for non tech folks like myself. furthermore, their illistration numbers do not corretlyrelate with those in the text sections.

also, the only thing you really need to work on the camera is a soder iron and some small tools. perhaps a tube of epoxy and super glue and some lubrication.

none the less ... when i do finally complete these beaulieu manuals, you will at least be able to see what i did to make things easier.

Hi George!

At the first you'd check this drawing from my server:

http://www.sorb-i-tol.com/Beaulieu_zm_and_s_drawing.GIF

If you think you'd need the whole service manual, just contact me by sending emal to jukka@sorb-i-tol.com

Or immediately send your camera to Björn and forget the whole DIY!
Best Regards
