Where can I see Super8 work online?

I imagine this question gets asked from time to time, but I can't seem to find anything in searches.

I'm just looking to see some work done on Super8, whether it be ameteur, semi-professional, independent, etc. I'd like to see some different techniques in use.

I've seen the "online films" section here, and have watched a few pieces I've stumbled onto here in different threads. Is there some sort of home-made or independent film database somewhere?

Check out "The Lonely Planet", "Pilot Guides"and "Globe Trekker"- Pilot Productions UK. Here in Toronto it is on every night at 10 pm(OLN). A large amount of their "b roll" shots are filmed on super 8(k40 and 200T)

Many of my movies are contained on this ftp site. Only a few are seen through the Online films section.

All the films titled below are in the various folders. Zip is in Compressed, avi is in avi and so on.
You are right. There are many films here and a table of contents is needed. This partial listing may be a start. If everyone who has posted a film here would write a text description as I have then we could make one post under the Subject: "films" and find out just what is all here.

75,397,922 71.9MB A Regular 8mm film shot at night and transferred using a Telecine. This file is an MPEG-2 made for a SVCD burn to play on a DVD deck. It will not play on the computer unless you have the software for it such as WinDVD. Also, the file is Zipped to make it a little smaller and faster to download. You need WinZip to unzip it.

It took 165 seconds to upload.
It is old Regular 8mm film that had torn sprocket holes. Capture in the WorkPrinter was upside down and backwards. It was a little jumpy because of the little pieces sticking out from the torn holes. Premiere reversed and flopped it. Exposure is dark enough to keep detail in the light yellow jacket. When it is viewed on television, brightness and contrast must be adjusted, however, after that is done. the movie looks just the same as the film did. All the colors come up nicely. On a PC more blockiness shows in the darks.
Final output was 480x480 MPEG-2 with stereo for television off DVD for SVCD NTSC.
This sample shows the WorkPrinter quality, framing for TV cutoff, and exposure for light detail retained.
I might add that this sample was framed up to show sprocket holes, frame lines, and the edge of the film. That effects the size. Black borders in frame ups keep the overall size down. It is done so as to get as much of the film frame to show on television as possible. Both the sprocket holes and the right edge of the film get cropped out and show full screen images. The top and bottom do show a little band of black. The width is full screen. The height is full FRAME.
If the capture was made strictly for PC viewing then I'd zoom in on the image more and eliminate the holes at least since they are so white. There IS IMAGE between the holes showing. A mask could be made in Premiere to cover them I suppose.

78.8KB .01 sec. 352 x 240 made with miroVIDEO DC30 MJPEG[16].avi codec. I no longer have the video capture card and have purchased a software product, http://www.morgan-multimedia.com/ , to enable me to play the files which used to use the hardware to play out of the computer rapidly to make VHS tapes.
This is one frame held for 1sec to make a small sized file.

It is a Regular 8mm film from a flea market of McKeesport PA in the 50's transferred using a TC-20. This was the first attempt to make the test file used to determine if anyone other than myself could actually play such file types. You need Morgan or the hardware as it turns out.

11.3MB 1m 22sec long. A Regular 8mm color film, which was not processed by Kodak, transferred to video using a GOKO TC-20 transfer machine. The machine has been sold to someone in Moscow. A Hi-8mm video camera was used and the transfer was made onto Fuji Hi8 ME tape. I still have the bag full of all of the films. This clip was taken off the tape which is now 4 years old. The tape is 1 hour and 22 min long.


I doubt this list is complete, but it is a start.
