On my last roll of Fomapan R100 I used the wide angle lens on the H8-Rex camera. The lens did not cover the frame. This is a c mount lens on an 8mm camera and it makes circles? What's up with that? Is that normal? I never saw that. Maybe I never used the lens. I don't know.
Is the lens out of spec?
Thanks

The 5.5mm f/1.6 H8 RX Switar lens is designed expressly for the H8 RX camera. It's made to cover the regular 8mm format (some of these lenses cover the Super 8 format). If you fit a lens hood other than the shallow hood made for the lens, that might've caused the vignetting you describe.

The nonrex version, D mount, does not Vignette. The corners are not black, like the Rex one does.

OMG! It has a long light shade on it! Thank you. It is a cool effect, though, but it took me by surprise. I thought the short hood was a filter retaining ring and went and added a shade from the H16. So, the two together caused the old telescope effect. I added it to the 36mm hood and no vignetting occurred. It looks cool now that the lenses are three different lengths.sciolist wrote:The 5.5mm f/1.6 H8 RX Switar lens is designed expressly for the H8 RX camera.
