Source for Bell & Howell Service manuals?

Post by H_Nelson »

Hi--

I need to service my B&H 2146XL Super 8 camera and haven't found any Service manuals online for download. I have found a few places outside the US (I'm in Los Angeles) that seem to be selling copies, but I have no idea who is reputable.

Any links to a download or recommendations on a reputable seller would be appreciated!

Thanks! :)

Don't know what to tell you about where to get a manual. But if you're just trying to get it apart I can help some. The inside plate that has the model number and serial number should have 1 black Philips screw on the lower middle left of it. Remove it, push in the springs that hold the cartridge and you should be able to lift the plate up. Underneath you should see 2 larger screws that need to be removed. The lever you push down to open the door has a plate to the right which you need to remove to reveal another screw. I'm very certain the leather above and below need to be removed to reveal more screw holes. By the way, what's wrong with the camera anyway? Did you break the pinion gear on the motor?

Thanks for the info! The motor for the zoom lens isn't functioning -- I wanted to get inside and see what the trouble might be.
