H16 Bolex viewfinders?

Post by mr_x »

Hi,

Are the Bolex H16 viewfinders interchangeable please? I think there were several made, a x3[?], x10, x13. Are they fixed or can they be swapped from H16 to H16 please?

Thanks.

Yes. They are interchangeable. The ones for the non reflex can be put on the side or the top. The ones for the reflex are just meant to stay on top. There is one that is basically an eyepiece that goes to a mirror at 45 degrees pointing down. If you have a reflex that is the one you need.

There is a good explanation of the differences here:

Thanks, and to Bolextech,

This is good news, I have a very early reflex with the x6 viewer - I am used to this now but the image is dull at finer apertures, a larger image can only help, even if the improvement is minimal.
