URGENT - Expired Agfa Moviechrome rating???

Post by nrk13 »

Am shooting a video project at present and don't have time to shoot a test cart. Some of the Agfa film expired in the early 90s and some in the mid 80s, what would people recommend in terms of exposure?

I understand that it is very much a risky method of shooting and there is no definitive answer but would people advise overexposing the Moviechrome by a stop?

Many thanks

Unless the film has been kept in a freezer all this time, I'd not recommend shooting it without testing. You stand a very good chance of not getting any usable footage if the film has not been stored in a freezer. If it has been frozen, I'd shoot the normal exposure rating or open up the lens 1/2 stop. Without testing I would lean towards increasing exposure 1/2 stop as the best bet. I am not familiar much with the Agfachrome film so others may have better information based on experience for you. Good luck.
