Cement for film striping

Post by danieli »

Hi,
I am looking for the formula for film magnetic striping with a Weberling Paillard
I know they use Dioxine 1,4 and acetone, but I do not know the formula. Maybe somebody can help me?
Thank you!!

I thought as long as you're using the proper striping meant for film, then film cement and striping cement is the same thing?

When I bought my Weberling machine (2nd hand), it came with with this formula, handwriten on a piece of paper:

Agfa OT 171

400 ml cyclohexanon C6 H10 O
300 ml dioscan C4 H8 O2 (diethylene-dioxidi)
200 ml acetone CH3 CO H3
100 ml toluol CH3-G6 H5

I have never mixed it myself, I've always used Wittner's cement.
Film cement and striping cement are not the same thing, striping cement has to dry in like 1 second or so...

I have a bottle of film stripping cement that I will not use. If you want it, I will send it to you but I believe it must be shipped ground. -----

Oh ok, so film cement will work if you pull the film through your machine slow enough? Hmmmmmmm....

If anyone is interested, I am selling my Bolex Weberling 240 Duosound stereo sound striper. It is probably the most flawless available in the world presently, and certainly the Americas. I've got to have surgery, so I can't justify keeping it no matter how nice or rate. Comes with some glue, the tools and a 7-8 spools of stripe. $500
