An urgent problem! Help me!
Yesterday, after years and years of honored service, my Bolex H8 Rex 4 has sustained a damage: came off one of the two loop former, as you can see in the pictures. I can reapply it by reinserting it, but it not remains in his place, probably the small teeth no longer hold.
Can I get one to spare? And with a new one, it's enough that I insert it into its seat, with a soft pressure, and it keeps normally or I need to do some other operation?
Thank you! I trust that here there are real experts of mechanics of Bolex!

Re: Bolex H8 loop former
If this ever happens to me I'm just going to thread it by hand from that point on. THe earliest bolex's don't have loop formers. But you can remove the sprocket wheel to take off the rotating piece the loop former is attached to. Then crush the tabs in the slots.7OSE9 wrote:An urgent problem! Help me!

Thank you!
Even "hand" method, as the old Bolex, it is not a bad way, but I think to taking a new one piece and inserting in its place, with a little pressure. It should be back as usual work.

Bolex International, s. a., should have a replacement. Their technician, Otello Diotallevi, is an Italian.
After removal of the sprocket rollers these must be readjusted as to
1o height (along the spindle they sit on),
2o rotationally (loop size).
Take care

Thank you, Simon, I know Mr. Diotallevi, but I should have found an alternative way.
You say that I can't change ONLY this piece (http://s33.postimg.org/5362lnmnz/DSC00035.jpg) that I posted, with removing the old piece and applying a new with a little pressure?

I would advise you to contact Jean-Louis Seguin in Montreal, Canada. He is the best and can help you, i.e. bolextech@gmail.com.
