Alternative "cement"?

Post by 7OSE9 »

Do you know if for the splicing of a negative film (with A B metod or not) is recommended a different "cement" or it's Ok usual cement like Kodak, Hama, etc.?
I read an article on a site of a cement that was designated "suitable for negative", it's "Cinefix", and then I thought that there might be a variant...
But if I buy a Cinefix I can also use it with all the rest of the acetates, even positive?

Another curiosity: what is this? http://www.ebay.it/itm/Kodak-Rapid-Moun ... xyhs5SLr1t
Thank you!

As long as the film base is acetate, why would the cement for negative film be any different than for positive film?

You can make your own film cement but it's so cheap I don't think it's necessary. This has been discussed here before, there is a recipe in this thread:

I don't think that's film cement on your eBay link.

I know "homemade" cement, but you're right BAC, for the price that it costs not convenient take time and ingredients to do it yourself.

Thank you!
Cinéfix is the standard cement from Agfa which has always used by amateurs to edit their reversal film.
Or was this name adopted by another company?
Kind regards,

Should be just as you say, aj.
