Some years ago I enquired with Wittner to learn if they would keep DS-8 rolls in their catalog.bolextech wrote:That's good news if EK is more open-minded now.
At the time of my request, nobody but Kodak could do DS8 perfing.
Unperforated rolls should certainly entail lower finishing costs (you would think)....
Good luck with your project,

Whatchoo talkin bout willis? Claws need perfsMmechanic wrote:George Eastman delivered motion-picture stock unperforated for many years. I think it was only after WWI that the company switched to perforated-only stock. It seems to have something to do with the relation to the Bell & Howell Co. Now, since BH no longer dictates technics on EK, the latter might pick up back rationality.
But since almost no one is building cameras or processing machines anymore and since practically all of the existing equipment kinda needs perfs, why in the world would they not produce film with perfs unless someone asked and paid for it that way?Mmechanic wrote:George Eastman delivered motion-picture stock unperforated for many years. Nicholas, in your your city you have also who can print the positive for projection?Nicholas Kovats wrote:Great news, Dennis. The 100ft R8 price is a bit high but I understand the expense involved and the razor thin " profit" margin. LIFT use to recently stock 100ft R8 E100D for approximately $56-60 CAN so your suggested pricing is not stratospheric. My preference is for the film stock only as I have numerous local resources for processing and scanning.
