FOMA fixer question
I'm going to be processing some Foma R-100 regular 8. I have the Foma developer, the bleach and clearing bath. However, the fixer I have on hand is Kodak's which is mainly Sodium thiosulphate, whereas the Foma pdf says to use Natruim thiosulfate 5 H2O ( which is believe is sodium thiosulfate pentahydrate), and potassium disulfite. Does anyone know if using the Kodak fixer on Fomapan R-100 would work properly?

Re: FOMA fixer question
It will work. I use a generic fixer for FomaPan.

Re: FOMA fixer question
Can I suggest* you read about the permanganate and the quantity to use? Too much can soften the emulsion. Also minimal time in the fixer is said to be important.
There's a lot of stuff about the Foma kit and reversal in general over at apug.org.
e.g. this thread here:
http://www.apug.org/forums/forum37/1087 ... l-kit.html
'the Foma emulsion will be quite soft. Don´t use a squeegee, don´t pull the film through your fingers - the emulsion will suffer damages.'
Hope it goes well.
*assuming you have not used the kit before, of course!
