Trying an elmo GS-1200 bulb in a Sankyo, what do ya think?

Post by slashmaster »

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I know, the ultimate halogen bulb for super 8 is the 200 watter meant for the Elmo GS-1200. Was thinking of trying it in a Sankyo 702 with a 24 volt power supply. The stock bulb is already 150 watts so maybe if I just use a scalpel to remove all the mold flashing on the vents that they didn't get at the factory, it will have sufficient cooling for 200 watts?

Was going to post pics of all this too but my girlfriend knocked it on the floor and it landed so the take up spindle snapped off:( Tried using Testors glue to get it back on but it was weak and snapped again right away:(
