New to Super 8: Lens question

Post by lesliereed »

Hello,

I have a Gaf ST/84 and am having difficulty locating information on operating it. The lens is fixed f/1.7 with fixed focus, but need to find out where the plane of focus is in meters/feet. Searched all over the internet, but cannot find this info.

Want to make sure my footage is in focus (especially with the price of film these days). Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks!

If it's a fixed focus lens then everything should be in focus from around 6 feet to infinity. It sounds like a pretty basic camera, just point and shoot. Just don't expect to get good results close up (less than 6 feet). The link below has more information on the camera but no manual.
