Ferrania have done surveys, I certainly completed an online survey where I indicated that a colour reversal super 8 film was my first choice. For all we know they are looking at forums....

My hope is certainly that the Ferrania super 8 film is cheaper than Kodak's neg stocks and the Wittner/Kahl reversal. If they can put out a cartridge of 100ASA colour reversal for under 20 euros or even £20 that will be great. I will be buying.
The government says that by 2010 30% of us will be fat....I am merely a trendsetter :)

If you read the manufacturing process on Ferrania's website...their machines seem very inefficient, they produce film in long sheets with only the center 30% of the sheet cut into film with the rest discarded. Somehow that is the only section where the emulsion is uniform. I do not know if Kodak's machines were more efficient.

I'm thrilled that in 2014 and seemingly for good while to come, I can continue to live out childhood dreams of super8 film making. I still have a bunch of E160 in the freezer. It was/ is grainy as hell and by now will have a serious magenta shift. Am I going to enjoy shooting it anyway? Hell yes! I will enjoy color reversal film shooting, home cooking and projection for as long as it is available to me at a reasonable price. (EG NOT Wittner/Kahl prices even though their stocks are fab!)

Price is going to be a big issue for us on the USA side of pond. Euro to USD is a killer! I think us Yanks are hoping for John S, or Spectra etc., to cut a deal with Ferrania to distribute. 20E is 25USD + Shipping, processing tax.... It will end up being pretty steep. If that doesn't happen perhaps then we can get a great discount for buying a case (20 carts) or more at a time. I do as I've always done; stick it in the freezer until I eye my next shoot. In the mean time I will be anxiously awaiting for my first S8 F100D carts in the mail :D :P 8)

Now, lets get off the puter and shoot some film
