Interesting news. So a lot has been going on behind closed doors over the last year.

I came across this strange paragraph in the article (even more bizzare than "movie tape"):
"Kodak hopes the agreements will stabilize a rocky business and help to bridge a revenue gap for the next few years as it attempts to market a version of its film for use in touchscreens for devices like smartphones and tablets."
Obviously a mistranslation from some information in some press release, but the surreal nature of the resulting concept put a smile on my face. On par with "camels going through the eye of a needle".

Or perhaps its not a mistranslation. Some sort of atomic gauge filmstock, on nano-metre reels, inside a mini-memory card?

I have no idea what this means either? Will my phone shoot footage equivalent to 5213? or will I be able to do 2K captures with my iPad?

So here's the answer... touch screens will hold a sheet of processed Kodak film with an exposed grid that will consist of unwashed silver, that will conduct touch screen functions.

Ah cool. So it wasn't really a mistranslation - just not "film" in the sense the article had been using the term up until that point. But film nevertheless. Would be interesting to try some experiments along the same lines. If I understand the concept they are basically printing a circuit/network of silver where some subsequent touch of such (in combo with other components) results in a particular x,y signal being conducted.
