Good quality codec for Virtual Dub?

Post by Patrick »

Sometime ago, someone posted a link to a good quality codec for Virtual Dub but my memory is a little sketchy. I can't recall who produced the codec but it may have been Panasonic - correct me if I'm wrong. I'd like to use a codec that's as close to lossless as possible while using the deshaker plugin in Virtual Dub. I'm using deshaker to stabilise some footage I shot for a wedding that incorporates some super 8 film stock (a mix of 100D and Tri-X.) I'm guessing that codecs would generally be available for download as zipped files? If so, would I unzip the file to the 'plugins32' folder within Virtual Dub?
