Heh, I used a couple of ordinary, consumer grade cameras. Yeah, the sync is bad and that's part of the problem, especially since the location audio is incomplete (and there's music performed on-cam). I think the cameras ran somewhere between 20 & 21 fps. My original attempts at stabilization came from After Effects, which didn't work very well. I'm using Deshaker now and the results are quite good.


The only thing stopping me from an HD transfer is the cost - but I think it's better to hold off for that.....

If you're feeling brave, you could do an off-line edit from your DV transfer, then conform the camera film to match and transfer that.
I may sound stupid, but I hide it well.
