Repair, service manual Bell Howell 240 Electric Eye

Post by freddenacka »

Halo
I got a Bell Howell from eBay. It seems to work fine but sounds like it need some oil and lube.
Where can I get a service manual?
I did found thus on a google search but no answer when I try to Contact them.

In worst case I just open it but it would feel better to know.
I will use it as a travelling camera

I did now get a new one from Ebay.
This one seems to work better. I have cleaned it and oiled some moving parts that I can access. It have stocked on time of a lot of test. After some help it was going again
Need to remove the sprocket wheel to be able to access the last parts.

The problem if I take this apart totally is that the speed notch need to be calibrated. It will lose it´s position and then I don’t know how to sync it again.

There is tow screws inside the camera and then just 3 by the lens and the rewind wheel to take it apart.

It’s a bit easier to do this when I now have 2 and can look at the broken one.

I did now fix my last camera. Cleand all moving parts with lighter fluid and compresed air.
Did put some new gun lube on and now it goes stedy.
Did record it and acording to the wav file it now runs att 27-28 fps at 24 setting.
will just use it a bit slower and try with film.
