I just bought a Canon 310xl camera for about 13$ at a antique-shop. It has no cosmic wear and looks really fresh on the outside. This is my first super8 camera ever so I have no idea how it works.
First of all when i put in the batteries and turn the camera on (no film in) the camera doesn't do anything. Is it broken? and if so can i fix it?
Also, theres a red square dingling around in the right corner. It has something with underexposure to do?
That's about all of my questions for now. A response would be more than helpful. =)

Hi,
a manual can be downloaded here:

Most likely you'll have to clean the battery-compartment...
