I have some of Double X 35mm stock laying around. I was thinking of having Spectra or someone make me up some Super 8 carts but then I realized no one could process it.
Do you think Niagara could handle black & white negative Super 8 processing? Probably not unless it was a big batch.

Will, I am almost positive. They are famous for literally processing any stock. Please contact them to confirm.

I just dropped by, Will. Sylvain Chaussee, who happens to run the lab, says no problem. I just saw my first 40,000 ft 35mm reel!

Damn, looks like their ultra-low prices, especially their student/co-op rates, have gone up quite significantly on the new site.
Can't blame them though, given the way the industry has changed, but it's now looking to be much cheaper to send to someone in the US like Spectra than it is to deal in-country for Canadians.

I very much doubt there will be a mass exodus of film processing across the border. They have been solidly busy for the last few years since Sylvain came onboard and the prices are not set in stone. Quantities are negotiable. NCL is a borderline volunteer operation and a fundamental pursuit of film craft.

They've certainly got a great operation and they definitely care a lot about what they do. On second glance, the student/co-op rates only went up $2 for neg and color reversal S8 which isn't that bad. The B&W took a $4 increase though - I wonder if volumes have gone down for that service. I don't mean to sound bitter, it's just a sad fact of life for those of us engaging in a hobby/artform that was already expensive to begin with.

I'm really curious about the Super 8 scanning service listed on their price card. I wrote them to ask about it and they said they hope to have it up and running by late May.
Maybe they won't challenge the likes of Frame Discreet or Ochoypico in terms of quality and expertise, but if the scans look good, their film+processing+scanning bundle would be a really affordable option for Canadians. In fact, I have a couple friends who want to do super 8 music videos but are waiting on this (they wouldn't have the budget to send things in to a scanning specialist).
