16mm Kodak Surveillance Film 2210 : DIY Processing

Dear All,

I've been out this week and shot some test footage on 16mm BW negative film.
I've loaded this into my DIY spiral tank and hope to process about 50 feet of it like the BW neg super 8 I've done before...

Although it was a real hassle getting the 16mm film onto the spiral, I finally got it wound on there and am ready to try and process it this evening.
I'm planning to use Ilford ID11 developer, water stop bath and Hypofixer before washing and drying the film.

Now, here's the thing... The ebay seller I purchased the film from, claimed the film could be processed 'just like stills film' with the D76 process.
But when I checked out the film spec. online I found a Kodak data sheet saying the film has an 'antihalation backing'.
I've heard this makes colour processing difficult and must be removed, but I was surprised the seller didn't mention this.

So, does anyone here have any experience with processing this film, and if so, have any advice for me please?

Well, to answer my own question, I went ahead with the processing...

I got images OK, so yes, this film is a good candidate for simple DIY negative processing.
However, I'm pretty disappointed with the results, during the shoot, the Kiev Alpha 16 camera jammed again and the wobbly eyepiece makes focus difficult to say the least.

Nice job you did building the developing tank! I also have been thinking about the lomo tanks but would prefer not to pay what they typically cost. I'm wondering if the ones you hand crank through the chemicals are worth having? They seem to be much cheaper.
