Not having luck with Bolex H16's... Help!...

I got myself a non reflex bolex h16 which didn't run smoothly and wouldn't go the 64 or even 24 fps under the load of film. Took it apart to try to lube it but messed up the governor while doing it!... So again I found another cheap one on Ebay that they said ran. It also doesn't run smoothly at anything over 16 frames per second, still has the double perf sprocket wheels so have not tried it under the load of film yet.

Looks like the camera has never been taken apart to be lubed. None of the screws inside seem to have any marks on them. Should I take it apart and only clean and put fresh molly grease in the governor bell? Should I put molly grease on the metal band for the take up reel? What else shall I try doing to it? Does someone know of any online instructions for doing this?...

I vote you either find a nice one that is in good working order, or (if you have a nice machine otherwise) send it to a pro to have it cleaned, lubed and adjusted. You will treasure it.

All the time and money spent to find a still working camera is far better invested in a serviced one.

I do this on a regular base, i. e. Fr. 90 per hour including small things.
An H 16 takes about four hours, if no repair is necessary. So 360 Swiss Francs will provide you with a perfectly cleaned and lubricated Paillard-Bolex H 16. I give a two-years guarantee for my work.
