Re: 400ft-- 100ft Is there a easy way
I stocked up on several 100' rolls of R8 that I transfer to 25' reels by running them through my H8. I can get three 25' reels from one 100' reel with a few extra feet on each one. Unfortunately the R8 25' reels wont fit on a 16mm rewind, the shaft on the rewind is a little too big. You shouldn't have that problem with 16mm film. At least with the H8 I can take it out of the changing bag and watch the footage counter. I then put it back in the bag, cut off the film and start the next reel.

BAC,
Why transfer to 25' reels for your R8 or don't you use your H8 to shoot?

I usually use my B8 and D8 more than the H8 because they're more portable. Even when I do shoot with the H8 I often use 25' reels. For my home movies it would take a while to shoot an entire 100' reel and I can't wait that long to get the results back.
