I had a custom adapter made to allow Bolex eyecups to be used on Nikon R8 and R10 cameras. They cost me about $40 and an eyecup is $25 from Chambless Cine. Would anyone out there be interested in one of these? If so, I'll order a handful from the machine shop and put them on Ebay.

I looked high and low but can't find one for $25 from their catalogue online, did they update prices or am I missing something? Would appreciate if you could confirm they're still selling the same black ones as in your nifty video because all I can find nowadays are the grey ones from Israel.silverhalide wrote: an eyecup is $25 from Chambless Cine.

I just bought one from Jesse last week.
Item 265660 on http://www.chamblesscineequip.com/catalog/catalog.htm -> misc bolex camera accessories -> "black elliptical rubber eyepiece"
Turns out I paid $40, not $25. I mixed up shipping cost for an EL with the price of the eyecup. Odd, his catalog lists it for $35.

By the way, I've purchased replica Bolex eyecups from an eBay seller in Israel (see http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bolex-H16-H8-K2 ... _590wt_880). They're indistinguishable from the factory eyecups and a lot less expensive.

Interesting about the eyecup source. Thanks. At least they're not from Calkovsky. I don't mind supporting Bolex for a few extra dollars.
I'll put the adapter on ebay with a 2-3 week lead time. Actual turnaround will be about that for the first reorder.
I'm going to have to price them at $45 because it looks like demand won't support the quantity necessary to get the price down. Here's what I pay (not including shipping to me):
1-7 $45
8-10 - $40
11-13 - $35
12-15 - $30
Ok, here is the ebay auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 1019831964

You had better adopted an adapter for 22mm NIKON eye-cups
Then you have a range of eyecups to choose from. Original NIKON, the luxe Hoodman or economy ones.
It is crazy to pay that much for a rubber eyecup.
