Hi folks -- does anyone know of software that works with FCP/premiere that can take a .mov file, detect the frames, and separate each frame into a .jpg or similar image file? The idea is to make stills of movie film - but without the endless cutting/saving.
thanks

MPEG Streamclip allows you to output mov to image sequence:

It's a very useful piece of software btw -- much faster and better than Compressor for encoding aswell.

I think you're just asking how to convert a movie file (.mov) into an image sequence, and indeed, in many programs you can just open or import your movie file and export it as something else...
With Premiere you can import your movie to the timeline, just select a frame range then File/Export/Media and choose settings to make the individual frames.
Another (easier and much cheaper) option is Quicktime Pro, you can open up a .mov file then File/Export (choose Movie to Image sequence)
Quicktime Pro (The old version 7, not the newer 'dumbed down' one) is a great and very cheap tool for all kinds of audio / video file converting like this.
