Beaulieu s2008 light meter working, but motor dead

I bought a Beaulieu s2008 on flee market. When I start to recharge the battery, the light of the battery charger turns on, and the light meter is working, but the motor doesn't run.
Could this problem be solved by changing a new battery?
I am thinking to buy a new battery from wittner.de but I am just afraid that the problem is not only the battery but also the electric motor...

Simply connect the electrical contacts on the camera with a battery set (4 x 1.2V for the 2008) to see if it works.

I do not know much about the 2008 , but know alot about the 4008 !

The 2008 is over 40 year old / so is going to need some TLC , the light should come on when recharging the battery and meter needle can move ,
It's a risk you take when buying a old camera , and a new battery and charger is not cheap the curse of Beaulieu , best take it to a camera repair man and see if he can check the motor ?
Took some time and money to get my 4008 beaulieu up and running , the battery being the biggest problem , but worth it made some great films with her !

Thanks for reply, I will try with external battery pack to see if the motor work or not.
