Hi, I did the audio for a film showing in a gallery and the film is being spliced to play on a loop. I've never done sound for a loop before, so I didn't know that the optical audio track of 16mm film is actually offset 26 frames before the start of picture. This means if they splice at the start of the picture, I lose the first 26 frames of audio, which is important. If I had known this I wouldn't have had sound on the first 26 frames however, I can't change it now since the prints are made. Does anyone know if its possible to splice the film so that the first 26 frames of audio are spliced over the last 26 frames of picture, so I don't need to lose any audio?
I realize this is probably a hassle, but not sure else how to do it. Check out the diagram I made.
