For example this pic, I don't know which camera did it, but , if both S8 and R8 make 16:9 crop, their difference will be smaller , isn't it.

I'm not sure I understand the question. I'm sure you can work out what you are after from the diagram.

You can work it out:

On Standard8 the height (H) between the sprockets would be sprocket pitch (B) minus sprocket height (D):

H = B - D
= 4.234 - 1.143
= 3.091mm

The width (w) for 16:9 would then be:

W = H/9 x 16
= 5.4951 mm

area = H x W
= 16.9853541

Comparing to Max8 (or SuperDuper8)

SuperDuper8 is : 4.22 x 6.36mm

area = 26.8392

So the answer is, for 16:9:

Super8 (extended) = Standard8 (extended) x 158%

C

ps. note that the dimensions on wikipedia are incorrect (we all make that mistake), use this site instead: http://gcmstudio.com/filmspecs/filmspecs.html
And you have to subtract the sprocket height from the sprocket pitch to get the length between the sprockets.

I found one pic , looks like it is more accurate than WIKI,and easier for calculation.

I just took some pics to show the real size of camera gates of Bolex D8L standard 8mm camera and Braun Nizo 3056 super 8mm camera
on the left is Bolex, and right is Nizo
