There's been a couple of requests here lately for some Beaulieu Repair Manuals - so I thought what the hey I might as well just upload all the manuals I've accumulated over the years - so they're all here:
Thankyou - by the way how about we catch up sometime for a coffee or something - since we only live in the same town but communicate on a board located on the otherside of the world!!!! I'll PM you

Does anyone know where to get repair manuals for Canon 814 Autozoom and Canon 514 XLS ?
My Canon 814 AutoZoom works fine for the most part , but the auto exposure no longer functions ( I can set the manual exposure with no problem) . I tried to contact Willard Engineering about getting it repaired , but he must be on vacation because I haven't heard anything back from him in over two weeks.
I've got two Canon 514 XLS cameras that need work .
Canon 514 XLS #1 - battery test shows full power and the auto-exposure responds , power zoom works, , but the main motor won't run. When I switch it to R (run) and press the trigger it just makes a "humming" sound and a sort of grinding like it's trying to start running , but won't run.
Canon 514 XLS #2 - it runs , but the motor sounds "sluggish" , hesitating , like it's not running at full speed (on both 18 fps and 24 fps setting) . From past experience with the Canon 514 XLS I know what it's supposed to sound like when it runs and this one sounds sick.
I'm hoping it just needs to be lubed. But not sure how to even get into it ... I assume there are screws under the leatherette covering , but before I go stripping that off and poking around inside it I'd like some guidance. Someone out there must have the repair manuals ? (I hope ) .
It's got some disassembly and repair instructions for Canon Super 8 cameras

Scot,
Thanks, I know the guy who put the site together and he has done really good work. Its the electrical circuitry and its interaction with the mechanical bits I need. Thanks to that website I taught myself to pull apart and put back together 814's and can do that quite easily now but tracing the electrics and wiring is very difficult (you should see the amount of wiring inside both 814s and 1014 Electrics) and as for the XL-S series, forget tracing things out, only the manual is gonna tell you how to work with the microprocessor based system. Six months ago I approached Canon UK for copies of the manuals and my request bounced and and down, round and around Canon and the reply came back that they couldn't release them.

That's frustrating. They refuse to release the service manuals , and yet they won't offer service on the cameras. What reason could they have for withholding the information ? (I can't imagine there are any proprietary trade secrets pertaining to modern camera design contained in that service manual material. We're talking about 30 - to - 40 year old camera designs that Canon will never sell or service again .)

They might be too embarassed to admit they no longer have them.
