4008zm2 lens and battery wiring ?

Post by milesandjules »

Hi Guys

Just got this cute little 4008zm2 without a lens or battery. I threw on this 5008 schnieder 6-70 lens....it doesn't quite screw in far enough to make contact with the electrics, but what I'm more worried about is will the lens need to be collimated to this camera especially at the wide angle end?..... or will focus be right as is?

Also does this look right for wiring up to 7.2 nhmi battery?......(thats supposed to be 3.6 on the middle pin.)

thanks guys

If it doesn't screw in far enough for the contacts, then I suppose that it doesn't screw in far enough to focus correctly, too.
Are you sure that lenses from the 5008 are supposed to work on the 4008 at all? There are various versions of the "Beaulieu Mount"... Or maybe you simply forgot a step (e.g. the ones with the release button) when trying to screw in the lens ( http://www.apecity.com/manuals/pdf/beau ... 8_zm_2.pdf )?!
This space was left intenionally blank.

If the lens is from a 5008, there is a good chance that re-collimation may not be necessary, but only testing will tell for sure.

As for the mis-alignment of the contacts, there are minute differences from lens to lens depending on the position the C-mount thread was installed. Every lens is adjusted a little differently to match each body.
Unfortunately, trying to correct this may involve having the collimation re-checked so I would recommend you have it looked at by someone who can do this kind of work.

Cheers,

Thanks guys.....luckily the lens thread tightens up before the contacts are in position ....which is better than it being to loose.... i will do a film test. :D
