Using Kimtech Wipes to Clean 8mm Film

Does anyone know if Kimtech Science wipes (made by Kimberly-Clark) will scratch 8mm film when used to clean and dry the film? I previously used a soft cotton type rag but this left a lot of lint/fiber on the film which became a problem when transferring the film using my Workprinter-XP. Kimtech wipes are advertised to be lint free and usable on delicate items like camera lenses and mirrors.

I've never used those wipes but if they won't scratch a lens they are probably ok on film. I cut up an old cotton T shirt to clean my films. I think the knit material holds the fibers better plus it has been softened by many washes. The problem may have been the type of cotton material you used.

I've been cleaning films using KimWipes saturated with solvent for many years and I am totally satisfied.
I check it frequently and as soon as it picks up a little dirt, I discard it and take a new one. Fold the wet wipe over the film and hold it gently. Don't clamp down too hard; obviously, this could potentially cause scratches if you have grit trapped in there.

I use old tshirts and film cleaning fluid from Urbanski.

Never had any problems.

It's best to clean only 25 to 50 feet at a time, and then change the cloth, depending on how dirty the film is.

Film cleaning fluid is better, because it is made specifically for film, and "nourishes" it, if you will, IMHO.
